Forget flying nonstop — next time you’re traveling in the West, fly through Denver and check out this amazing 32-foot tall “Zombie Horse” at the Denver International Airport.
Officially titled “Mustang”, the huge Zombie Horse was created by Luis Jiménez over a period of three years. Jiménez was fatally injured while working on the Zombie Horse when a part of the sculpture fell on him in 2006. The sculpture was completed and erected posthumously earlier this month.
Apparently some haters in Denver aren’t fond of Zombie Horse, but many people say the Denver International Airport is a pretty creepy place anyway, so I hope Zombie Horse is there to stay.

Thats awesome but extremely creepy indeed. Im more interested in the storm in the picture. Seems man made eh????? m-dizzle
I love this photo and the horse. Truly mesmerizing. Very sad about the creator though.
I think just the fact that the tragedy of the artist’s death happened due to this horse, is reason enough to label it “evil” at best. My boyfriend calls it the “horse from hell” and I just think it’s pure evil. When you drive in or out of DIA at night and especially in the snowstorms, the red eyes look like those of the devil… I say take it down or maybe a bunch of people could come by and spray paint the thing all white so it’ll just blend in with the snow and the airport.
I think it’s freaking awesome. Fran, I think maybe you should move to Utah.
WELCOME TO DENVER….WAH HA HA HA HA…..
and its not even the strangest thing at this airport. Flown through on business several times the past 5 years and find the location and pure land size odd. The old airport was working just fine btw…
The Horse is a great piece of art. It paints a lasting memory for those entering and exiting the great state of Colorado. The Denver Broncos, the open country with mountains. Its sad that the artist died creating and performing something he really loved. This is the story of an artist. RIP!!! You were doing what you loved.
